The house sleeps 9 in 4 bedrooms, and is set in 2 acres of land above a small cliff with private access on the beach. It has fabulous views of the estuary from all rooms and has 25 foot of glass in the living room overlooking the water. It comes complete with 2 bathrooms and a shower room, kitchen, dining area for 12, games/rec room with table tennis table, double garage, laundry facilities, linen & bedding.

Rock is directly opposite Padstow which has been made famous by Rick Stein's seafood restaurant. Rock has also acquired a cachet for being the place where English public schoolboys and girls go to cause havoc - but that's only in high summer. Other nearby attractions include the Eden Project at St. Austel, the National Maritime Museum at Falmouth & the Tate Gallery at St. Ives. If there weather's nice there's surfing, sailing, diving, waterskiing, kite surfing and windsurfing from the beach or nearby.

It's around 4 1/2 hours from London by car but if you don't want to drive, there are flights to Newquay airport which is 10 miles away. (Ryanair from Stanstead or Air Southwest from Gatwick). There are also trains from Paddington to Bodmin Road station (10 miles) and a helicopter landing pad a mile away.

Apart from beautiful countryside, cream teas and lots of good pubs, there are also many good restaurants in the area now due to Mr Stein, including the only Michelin starred restaurant in Cornwall.

Our home is in an interesting former school building built in the mid-19th century of a mixture of flints and red bricks and now divided into 8 residential units. Our property is in an off-road position at the rear of the building. The front door goes out onto a fairly large communal garden area with our own table and chairs and a pond/fountain. The ground floor is open plan with a kitchen area to one side divided from the rest of the area by an island. White ceramic tiling on the ground floor with rugs, dining table and sofa/armchair etc. Upstairs there is a bathroom with tub, shower, toilet and washbasin; and two bedrooms (one with a double bed and one with pull down sofa bed and a computer. The property is clean and in good condition, has gas central heating throughout and under floor heating on the ground floor. 

It is located in a good area, within a few minutes walk there is a supermarket, 16th century pub (plus 3 other pubs - 2 of which also do food), and a good Indian restaurant. Eastbourne town centre (for shopping, eating out, theatres etc) and the seafront are about 15 minutes walk away. Eastbourne is a seaside town of about 70,000 inhabitants, on one side is the English Channel, whilst inland it is surrounded by the South Downs with picturesque countryside and many small (often historic) villages and towns. 

It would be fair to say that Eastbourne is a fairly sedate place, it has only one gay pub (for instance) so probably wouldn't suit the "swingers" amongst us! However Brighton with its many gay pubs and clubs is 15 miles along the coast and London is very accessible (about 54 miles away - there is one fast train an hour to London from Eastbourne mainline station (the station is about 10 minutes walk from our property and the journey to London takes 1.30 hours.

My apartment is about 950 square foot / 85 square meters, a warehouse loft conversion with high ceilings and big windows - furnished to a very high standard. There are 2 sleeping areas, one in a separate bedroom measuring just under 200 square foot / 18 square meters, and the other in the dining alcove measuring 9 ft by 9ft and therefore the sleeps 4 comfortably. You will have access to my PC and there is also a wireless ADSL connection to allow you to access the Internet 24 hours a day. Other amenities includes a surround sound DVD theatre system that you can watch on an 8 foot (just under 2 meter) wide projector screen; CD player and a Sony Play Station 2 with a host of games.

There is a shower attachment in the bathroom for those who prefer to shower to taking baths and the kitchen is generally well stocked and house a dish washer, oven, ceramic hob, microwave and Gaggia “beans to coffee” coffee machine. Washing machine and tumble dryer is housed in a separate utility cupboard.

Located off Middlesex Street near Liverpool Street Station in London (Zone 1) the apartment is walking distance to all the tourist attractions near and around London Bridge, Southwark Bridge, St Paul’s Cathedral and Tower Bridge. The Jack the Ripper Walking Tour, which starts from Tower Bridge Station, goes through my area. The West End and all its attractions are just a few tube stops away on the Central Line at Liverpool Street Station, Canary Wharf on the DLR from Bank and Charring Cross Station on the District Line from Aldgate East.

We would like to offer our property for either an exchange or as a Bed and Breakfast type arrangement; or as a vacation rental when we are away on holiday.

Hi,

We’re Steve & Peter, Steve is a Headteacher and I’m a primary I.C.T. teacher, we work in London but live about an hours drive from the city in a rural part of Essex called Cornish Hall End. It is a cottage style house set in a small quiet English village. Our nearest town is Chelmsford for shopping or London for the bars & clubs.

The house has 4 bedrooms one of which is our office, downstairs we have a fully fitted kitchen leading to the Breakfast room overlooking the front garden, through the hall to the dining room with a fire place and reading area through to the lounge and French windows looking out on to the landscaped garden with pond and fields behind.

We have 3 cats, Wellington – the village cat and Charlie & Seymour who have had to adapt to country life after living in London.
