| Gregg;
I live in a large 3 bedroom house in
Phoenix Arizona. My home is just on the skirts of the 'central' part of
the city and located right in the center of a nature preserve. Mountain
climbing and hiking are right outside the front door. My home includes a
very private outdoor pool, outdoor bar, outdoor dining area. Grocery
stores and coffee shops are within walking distance as is one of the major
city bus lines. Travel by car into the center of the city where gay bars
and shops are takes about 10 minutes. My entire home has wireless Internet
access, large television and home theater system.

Built in 1954, our single story home has
been beautifully updated with 4 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. We have a large
kitchen with a separate dining area. All 4 bedrooms are very spacious and
the master suite has steam sauna. There is a very large family room with
French doors which open to the manicured back garden with pool, hot tub
and BBQ. We also have a home theater with surround sound. Established and
quiet neighborhood with wide range of ages from toddler to retired aged.
We are centrally located on public bus lines. We are also close to
shopping, cinemas, hiking, golfing and much, much more.

Description:
Our 2300 square foot, Southwestern stucco home is on
a quiet cul-de-sac in a gated community in the upscale foothills section
of Tucson. The front hall brings you directly into the great room with it
13 foot peaked ceiling. A wall of class windows and doors overlooks a
covered patio with a view of the Catalina Mountains and the second putting
green of a golf course (membership NOT included). It has a dining area
with seating for six, and a living area with an oriental rug and
comfortable furniture. On the left of the great room is a large,
well-equipped kitchen. At the far end of the kitchen area is a family room
with two couches, TV, stereo, and the same view as that of the great room.
On the right side of the great room is a powder room, an office, and the
master suite with a king bed, bathroom (with Jacuzzi tub), and a walk-in
closet. On the immediate left as you enter the house is “the west wing,”
which includes a guest bedroom with a queen bed, a full bath and an
office that could house an air mattress (available) or rented bed.
Neighborhood:
Our gated community, in the northeastern section of
Tucson, has an exercise room and an outdoor pool for its members and
guests. Grocery and drug stores are a ten minute drive, and most of the
city is within a half hour’s drive. The rich cultural life of the city
includes an opera company, symphony, chamber music groups, several live
theater groups, movie houses, museums, botanical gardens, a zoo, a rodeo,
Indian gambling casinos, street fairs, farmers’ markets, an abundance of
hiking trails, golf, and restaurants of all kinds. The city is easy to
drive in because few buildings are over two stories except for the
downtown, and streets are laid out on a grid. If you’re ever lost, just
head north toward the Catalina Mountains, which are always visible and
will lead you eventually to a cross street that you’ll recognize. Easy
day trips will take you to Kartchner Caverns, the Desert Museum, and even
the Mexican border town of Nogalis. You can drive to the Grand Canyon and
even San Diego in a day.
Destination:
Almost anywhere except where it’s cold. (Living in
southwestern US has thinned our blood!) Except for high school French, we
only speak English, but would try to pick up needed phrases in a local
language, such as “Where is the bath room, please?” We would prefer
almost anywhere in Europe, but we’re also interested in New Zealand and
Australia. In fact, we’re open to suggestions. The length of stay could
vary, but anything less than two or three weeks would not justify a long
plane trip. We need time to get over jet lag!

Bob
(late 50s) and Stew (late 60s) are both retired. Bob was a business
manager at an inn and did extensive volunteer work with a large
musical theater company both on stage and directing. Stew taught
English literature at Boston University before founding and serving
as president of a small, non-traditional college for 22 years. We
are quiet and enjoy lots of “down time” with a book, tv,
computer, or sunset. We also speed-walk about four miles a day, and
enjoy exploring new cities and countries especially through
self-guided walking tours. Thus, an ideal trip would include a
comfortable home from which we could go native. We would like to
walk to markets or museums if possible, and take day trips by car or
public transportation. An evening’s entertainment might include
cooking dinner at home, going to a theater, or even sitting on a
promenade bench with an ice cream cone watching people stroll by. We
are tidy and would take good care of your home and possessions, as
we would expect you to do with ours. |

Please: No smoking or pets in the house. We prefer adults
or those with older friends and/or children. Temperatures are about
perfect from mid-September to mid-November, and again from mid-March to
mid-April. Winter temperatures are comfortable and rarely go below
freezing. Summer (May - August) can be really hot, but everything (houses,
cars, shops, theaters, etc.) is air conditioned. The “monsoon season”
runs from July to mid-September. It offers spectacular, usually
late-afternoon thundershowers best viewed from inside the house! Except
for monsoon season, the air is exceptionally dry. This means that you
enjoy heat much higher than you would in a humid climate.

| Daniel &
Ruben;
The house is amazing, adobe, quite unique architecturally,
mid-century modern, mostly in original or restored to original shape,
including the original oven and stovetop, built 1955, all BRs open to the
pool (not heated), enclosed yard, citrus trees, covered patio, BBQ. Quiet
foothills neighborhood perfect for great short safe walks and
cycling/jogging; or, very close to spectacular mountain hiking/biking
trails. Not far from golf/horse rentals/shopping/bus stop. Great
restaurants and resorts nearby. The city is 8 miles down the road, the
airport in either Tucson or Phoenix is easy to get to/from. Mexico is 70
miles south. You can walk to coffee shops/restaurants/markets/Gold's Gym.
LA Fitness is nearby. If you like gay bars, the closest is 4 miles, the
closest Lesbian bar is about 8 miles. Phoenix is 1.5 hours by auto, 14
hours by bicycle. There are at least two other gay couples on this street,
and our close friends down the road who should be a gay couple.
The smallest property around here is at
least an acre, this one is 1.5. Most of the landscaping around here is
desert, with some small lawns usually in the backyards around pools.
