Our home is an early 1900s craftsman
triplex. There are tenants who live on the first floor and the basement
contains a small studio apartment (both have separate entrances). We live
in the top two floors which is more than 2,000 sq. feet. The home is very
comfortable and quiet. You will get a good bit of exercise from all of the
stairs. The main floor has a living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom,
and two bedrooms. The upstairs has a great room (which we use as a
TV/family room), a bathroom, and a bedroom. The balcony has great views
and is a beautiful spot to have morning coffee or BBQ dinner. The back
yard is cozy and private. We have a washer, dryer, dishwasher, microwave,
TV, DVD player, and a computer.
Our house is located in the Leschi
neighborhood, next to Madrona. The neighborhood is located on a slope
rising from Lake Washington, so there are hill-top views. To the east,
views overlook Bellevue, Lake Washington, the Cascade Mountains and
moonrises. Downtown is approx. 3 miles to the west. The neighborhood is
rich in diversity and history. This is a spectacular walking area, with
parks and gardens that unfold and bloom throughout the seasons. The small
but growing business strip in Madrona is on 34th, which includes
restaurants, shops and retailers, cafes, a local winery and a renovated
yellow-stucco gas station (now a frame shop and gallery). Leschi town
center is about two blocks long and vacation-esque. Set off the marina,
there is a local grocery store, restaurants, small businesses, condos, a
deli and a Starbucks. On the weekends, Leschi is a resting stop and
watering hole for recreational and competitive cyclists. Along the lake
you have Madrona Park, which comes with a snack bar, picnic tables and
covered shelters that can be reserved through the Public Parks system. A
bathhouse doubles as the home to a dance company and offers year-round
classes. This swimming beach is full-service: lifeguards, a roped-in
swimming area, floating dock and facilities.

| Peter;
I live in a small, 2 bedroom house, which I
am renting. The house is located about 20 minutes north of downtown
Portland, OR in the suburbs. Portland is known for its surrounding
mountains, waterfalls, and ocean scenery, all within a day's drive, as
well as its funky urban coffee shops and bookstores. I have a comfortable
sleep sofa that can accommodate two guests. I also have a dog and a cat.
Warning: the house is in need of a serious paint job on the outside, so it
looks a little scary.
